Meeting 14th August 2012

Tonight we had guests at the dinner meeting.
Our Quest entrant Aimee and her father Graham came to meet the club. Aimee gave an introductory speech. She is the granddaughter of one of our past members.











We also inducted two new members, Laura and Nathan Lung.

Steam train trip

Our social outing to the Rosewood Steam Train Historical Society Museum and train trip went well even though the train was cancelled due to track problems. We also had a lovely lunch at the Rosewood park in John Street.

Christmas in July

A highly successful event held at the Ashgrove Gold Club made our presence in the community. There was a large crowd who had a magnificent night, a feast of Christmas cheer, and wonderful food catered for by the Golf Club. Even Santa was impressed.

The Lions Club thanks its sponsors and the wonderfully kind donations made by businesses in the district that helped us raise funds our representative in the Lions Medical Research Personality Quest. All the monies raised go to much needed medical research.

The Change-over night was held at the Ashgrove Golf Club.lLion Neil Phillips kindly officiated for the evening as Lion  Robert Craig was taken ill suddenly. We wish a speedy recovery to Robert. Lion Neil Phillips did a wonderful job for the night. Our official guests, Conrad, President of the Ashgrove Rotary Club and his wife Carol, .were lovely guests and an important networking for the Club.

Our new combined Ashgrove/The Gap club banner is flagged by the two elderly fore-runners. Thanks to Lion Neil Phillips who organised this new banner. Sadly her reflected that the new banner would outlast all the current members.

Congratulations to the recipients of the Professor Ian Frazer Humanitarian Awards to both  Lions Tony Molloy and John Anderson.
